Amy Altmann Jahnigen was born and raised in Harford County.  She graduated from C. Milton Wright High School in 1995.

She has a passion for running and in 1994 was the Harford County Cross-Country Champion and continued on to run Cross-Country and Track at UMBC.

Amy graduated from UMBC in 1999 with a double major in Economics and Computer Information Systems and a minor in Finance.   She went to work for FICO and has been with them ever since.   She is now a Senior Technology Engineer.  In 2016, she was selected to represent FICO at the Women in Technology Summit in Silicon Valley.

In 2001, Amy married her husband Tim after he graduated from the United States Naval Academy and they spent the next 6 years moving around the country while he trained and served as a Submarine officer.    Amy enjoyed her time as a military spouse and has much empathy for what life is like holding down the home front while your loved one is on deployment or in harm’s way.

In December of 2006, Amy moved back to Harford County with her husband and they started a family.  They have three sons, 10 year old twins that go to Homestead Wakefield Elementary School and a 4 year old that goes to St. Francis de Sales preschool.

Among numerous volunteer activities, Amy is involved in her Homeowner’s Association and is also the Corresponding Secretary of the HWES PTA.   Amy has always had a passion for community issues and getting involved and is excited to join the race for County Council and make a difference in the community that she loves so much.
